Alpharetta Greenway to Marconi Drive Extension Complete

Marconi Extension

The extension of Big Creek Greenway north to Marconi Drive is now complete.  A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at 10:00 am today at the small parking lot on Marconi.  This is currently the northern most access to the Fulton County portion of the trail. The new extension adds an addition .85 miles to the Alpharetta section of the Greenway, bringing its total length to approximately 8 miles.

This completes the first step in connecting the Forsyth and Fulton sections of the Big Creek Greenway.  No permanent plans are in place yet for completing the connection of the two trails.  When the two sections are completed, there will be well over 15 miles of continuous trails through the two counties.

Enjoy the new section of the trail!

  • This extension is a nice add-on to the present trail. Very scenic, and an excellent job was done in it's construction. Thanks to the folks that made this possible.
